MechAxis Cookie Policy
Which cookies and similar browser storage MechAxis uses, why, which are optional, and how to change your choice.

What this covers
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser’s local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way, and this policy covers all three. It applies to mechaxis.com.au, the MechAxis workshop app, and the customer pages workshops send through MechAxis: quotes, invoices, booking and intake forms, and the customer portal.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
Your choice
On your first visit a banner asks what you allow. Nothing optional loads until you choose: no analytics, no session recordings. You can accept all, reject everything non-essential, or choose category by category.
The choice is saved in that browser only, so another device, or the same one after its browser data is cleared, will ask again. We also ask again after 12 months. You can change it at any time here, from Cookie settings in the website footer, or from Cookie settings in your account menu in the workshop app.
Switching a category off stops it from then on and removes its cookies from that browser. It does not delete information already collected; to ask for that, email hello@mechaxis.com.au.
Essential: always on
These make MechAxis work. Without them you could not stay signed in or keep your place in the app, so they cannot be switched off. None of them is used for analytics or advertising.

Analytics: only with your permission
These tell us which pages are used, what is confusing and what breaks, on the website and in the workshop app. Page text and form contents are masked, identifiers in private page addresses are removed before anything is sent, and your customers’ records are never sent. When analytics is off, none of these load and MechAxis works exactly the same.

Session recordings: only with your permission
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors scroll and click on our public website pages, such as the home page, pricing, features, articles, tools and these policies, so we can see which pages explain the product badly. It never runs in the workshop app, on a quote or invoice link, on a booking or intake form, in the customer portal, or on the sign-in and password pages. When session recordings are off, Clarity is never loaded.

Embedded videos
Some website pages embed YouTube videos in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube does not store information in your browser until you play a video. Once you play one, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to that video.
Blocking cookies in your browser
Your browser can also block or delete cookies and stored data. Blocking the essential ones signs you out and stops the workshop app and customer portal from working; blocking the optional ones has no effect on how MechAxis works.
