Take a booking, record an inspection and send a quote. Check whether the customer can approve individual repairs, how the technician receives that work, and how parts and labour become an invoice. Use the trial to test these steps with the staff who will do them.
What MechAxis offers
MechAxis keeps bookings, customers, vehicles, quotes, job cards and invoices together. Gold adds digital inspections and inventory. Customers can approve quote lines through a link and emailed verification code. Platinum adds fleet access, warranty cases, capacity planning and revenue recovery.
What Workshop Mate publishes
Workshop Mate lists job cards, invoicing, a booking diary, stock management and service history. It also lists Xero, MYOB and Burson EzyParts integrations. Its pricing page offers unlimited users and says integration charges apply.
Check integrations before switching
MechAxis has Xero connection and sync tools, but live use requires validation of the workshop account and its mappings. Contact us before relying on Xero for your move. Burson and Repco ordering, MYOB, registration lookup and review-platform connections are not available. The technician app is an installable web app.
Compare the whole bill
Use the same GST basis and billing period for both quotes. Include staff, sites, integrations and message usage. MechAxis plan prices include GST. Workshop SMS is billed separately at the agreed rate; the standard is 25c per segment including GST. Long messages can use more than one segment. Check your data during the trial
Export a sample of your customers, vehicles and parts. MechAxis provides CSV import templates, a preview and validation. Check the fields your workshop needs before moving the rest of your records.
